Stone & Wood Authentic Mexican Molcajete + Tortilla Warmer.
Present in Mexican culture since pre-Hispanic times, the molcajete is one of the oldest Mexican utilitarian objects.
This unique molcajete is a variation of the traditional design, complemented with a wooden base that works as a tortilla plate or commonly known as tortillero; two key elements of Mexican cuisine that are basics on the table in any great Mexican dinner.
The wooden plate is made using the sectioned wood technique to achieve desired shape and thickness while generating less wood waste.
The molcajete is made out of gray volcanic stone carved 100% by hand while the tortilla warmer is made out of Tzalam wood. 100% handcrafted in Hidalgo, México.
The molcajete can be used to make handmade salsas using the molote or pestle to grind and mix all the ingredients, or also as a center plate to serve main dishes with a beautiful presentation.
Available with natural or dark wooden base/tortillero.
In the dark wood tortillero, the natural wood is treated or hydrated with linaza oil.

Use and Care:
Wood: Wooden items should be hand cleaned. Wipe with wet towel and let it dry. Avoid excess of water that can damage wooden pieces. Dishwashers can strip the natural oils that keep wooden pieces from drying out causing the wood to crack.
Stone: Although Stoneware is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to preserve the cookware's original appearance. Citrus juices and citrus-based cleaners (including some dishwasher detergents) should not be used, as they can dull the exterior gloss.RETURN & REFUND POLICY
