Juncal Natural "Chuspata" Handwoven Pendant Lamp
The "Chuspata" is a type of aquatic reed/wicker extracted from the shores of Lake Pátzcuaro in Michoacán, Mexico.
Before the arrival of the Spanish, only rugs were woven, an element with which the technique was born, but today there is a great variety of products made out fo this unique natural material.
The only tool used are the 2 hands of the talented craftsman, once cut it is left to dry for a few hours and then moistened so that it is flexible and does not break in the weaving process.
For large pieces, the craftsman relies on a wrought iron structure on which the fiber is woven, in order to make it more resistant and long lasting.
This Juncal style is perfect in a side, accent or coffee table or to give a nice touch to your bedroom in nightstands or bedside tables.

Use and Care:
The Chuspata tends to be durable and resilient but does require some regular cleaning and overall care to look its best. Natural Chuspata wicker/reed will last longer if it's kept out of direct sunlight.
To clean, simply use a soft brush to remove dust. Clean the lamp with a solution of mild dish detergent and warm water, using a sponge or an old toothbrush. Rinse with a clean, damp sponge or rag. Allow the lamp to dry completely to avoid mildew growth.
