Kenetam Molcajete

Kenetam Molcajete

$189.00Price

Volcanic rock molcajete and tejolote with ceramic serving plate.

The rough surface of the rock creates a superb grinding surface that maintains itself over time.

Molcajetes were originally used by pre-hispanic mesoamerican cultures including Aztec and Maya and are still used to crush and grind spices . Perfect to prepare and serve salsas and guacamole with a distinctive texture and a difference in flavor from the ones prepared in regular blenders.

It can also be used as an original dish service that keeps the food hot for a longer period of time due to its high thermal mass. A hot dish can still be bubbling up to half an hour after serving.

    Use and Care:

Volcanic rock: Brush all tools washing with soap and water before and after each use, to keep it in good condition.

Ceramics: We use only high quality ceramics that are very durable, however, due to the wide range of contributing factors, we canot claim that cermic dishes are "dishwasher safe" so we recommend washing all ceramic dinnerware and cookware by hand to avoid any damage that may ocurr during the machine washing cycle. We also do not recommend the ware for use in the oven.
